William asked for 1 thing for his birthday.....a homemade ice cream maker. When W was "little" he said his dad would always make homemade ice cream, and that it is some of the best memories he has of him. Ever since we bought the condo, he has been asking for one, so of course this year for his birthday I made his wish come true! Our first time to the lake after his b-day we were so excited to make our yummy treat, half way to PK we realized that our yummy treat maker was still at home sitting in the box.....OOPS!
Riley was sure to tell him all about it as soon as he woke up!!
So trip number 2 we made sure that the ice cream maker was one of the first items packed in the car! So Saturday night, after one of our traditional PK meals (homemade tacos) we decided to give it a whirl! Ry, of course was so excited even though she hadn't a clue what we were making! She happily helped daddy add the ice and salt!
45 minutes later and lots of direction reading, some more ice, salt, whipping cream, milk, vanilla and some other ingredients I can't remember at the moment our yummy treat was.....well PERFECT! Riley thought so too! Here are a few pics from our new favorite pass time....Carson slept through it all, but I am sure one day soon he & Ry will be enjoying it together!
